If patients message your clinic at 11 pm and the slot is gone by the time reception opens, this is for you. It is not for a clinic that needs patients to pay a deposit online, or wants a bot that books for them inside the chat: Mindcat Bookings has neither today.
Why is it really a question about one calendar?
Most front desks ask "WhatsApp or a booking page?" as if the channel decides how many mistakes you make. It does not. The mistakes come from how many places a slot lives.
A healthcare virtual assistant described one on LinkedIn in March 2026: two patients booked at 10:00 with the same provider. One appointment had been taken by hand during a phone call. The other came through an online booking link that "hadn't been properly synced". Two entry points, one slot.
A clinic-automation vendor, Meteor, wrote in September 2026 that double bookings "are rarely the mistake of the person doing the booking. They are the result of keeping two calendars." It is a vendor's view, and it matches what the LinkedIn post describes.
So the real question is how many calendars you keep. One calendar per doctor, with every booking written into it, lets you use more than one front door.

How do you count a week in one hour?
With reception's phone, the WhatsApp inbox and the diary. You need no spreadsheet skills.
- 01List every new booking from the last 7 days from the diary, with the date the patient first asked.
- 02Next to each, write where it started: phone, WhatsApp, Instagram or Google link, or walk-in.
- 03Open the WhatsApp threads and mark each as a slot question (is Tuesday free? anything after 5?) or a judgment question (what should I book? do I need to come in? is this the right doctor?).
- 04Count each group and note how long the slot questions waited for a reply. Messages that arrived after closing and waited until morning are the ones a page answers at once.

A slot question has one right answer, and a calendar knows it. A judgment question needs a person who knows the clinic. Splitting them is the whole test.
Booking page, WhatsApp or both?
This is our rule of thumb, not a study. Match your count to the row.

If your count landed on the last two rows, close this tab and look for a tool with payments or chat booking. That is a real answer, and we would rather give it before you pay us.
Where does the reminder fit?
A reminder moves attendance more than the choice of channel does. Two studies from the Gulf show how large the gap can be.
- Emirates Health Services runs primary care centres in six emirates. A 2025 paper in JMIR Formative Research reports a baseline no-show rate of 21% across them. That is one public network, not a private clinic, so use it to size the question and count your own.
- In a Saudi randomized trial of 502 patients at one internal medicine clinic (Eastern Mediterranean Health Journal, 2014), non-attendance was 39.8% with no reminder and 26.3% with an SMS sent 48 hours before. It was one hospital, and the services were free of charge.
Those are what the studies found, not what any booking tool delivers. They do show where a WhatsApp message earns its place: the day before the visit, from the clinic's own number, reminding the patient and offering the link to move the slot.
Mindcat Bookings sends a confirmation by email. The reminder is setup work: we add a reminder email for the day before, and from 6 calendars WhatsApp or SMS reminders through your own provider. WhatsApp, SMS and email sending fees are billed at cost.
What does Bookings do for a clinic, and what is left out?
Mindcat Bookings is an online booking system we host and run for clinics and salons that book by slot. Each doctor or therapist gets a calendar. A patient picks the service, the doctor and a free time on their phone, in Arabic or English, from the link on your Instagram, Google listing or website. A booked time disappears from the page at once. Reception sees every doctor's day on one screen and enters phone bookings into the same calendar. Booking data sits on our servers in the UAE, or in Jeddah or Riyadh for a Saudi clinic. The screens on our page use sample data.
Here is the one step it changes. Before: a mother messages at 11 pm asking for a paediatric slot, reception replies at 9 in the morning, and she has already booked the clinic that let her pick a time online. After: the reply, or the link in your bio, lets her pick a free time that night. Only free times show, worked out from each doctor's hours, breaks and bookings. Answering the message itself is a different job. If your pain is chats that sit unanswered, that is Mindcat Inbox, not this.
What it leaves out matters as much:
- No online payments or deposits. Patients pay at the clinic.
- No booking inside a WhatsApp chat. The patient opens the link.
- The app sends confirmations, not reminders. The day-before reminder is added in setup, as above.
- A patient who switches the page to Arabic gets the booking steps, the confirmation and the emails in Arabic, laid out right to left. Your service names and form questions show as you type them, so we agree the Arabic wording with you during setup. The staff console stays left to right.
- Hijri dates, UAE PASS and Nafath are not supported today.
Bookings books slots. A clinic that also needs patient records, charges and a day report is a different product: see Mindcat Clinic. Our clinics page shows how a front desk runs on Bookings, and a salon deciding between a marketplace and its own page should read Fresha or your own page.
What would 8 doctors and therapists cost?
Our page prices each staff calendar: AED 59 a month for calendars 1 to 5, AED 45 for 6 to 15, AED 35 for 16 to 40 and AED 25 above that. Receptionists and managers who run the diary are free, and patients never count. For 8 doctors and therapists that is 5 × 59 + 3 × 45 = AED 430 a month (USD 117.09), plus 5 percent UAE VAT. There are no per-booking fees.
The per-calendar price comes with a monthly minimum, so no one can buy a single calendar at the per-calendar rate. On the shared plan the minimum is AED 399, so a clinic with 3 doctors pays AED 399, not AED 177.
Up to 15 calendars, the quick start is a fixed package we set up for AED 2,500 one time. It is not software you set up alone. From 16 calendars, and on your own servers, we set it up with you. Annual prepay takes 15 percent off the part above the minimum.
What happens in the first working session?
We call the method Every slot visible: every doctor's time open to book, and every booking in one calendar. You send how many doctors and therapists take bookings and how patients book today: phone, WhatsApp, Instagram, walk-in. We reply with the setup plan and the monthly price per calendar, in AED. If your count says patients need to pay a deposit, we will say so and point you to a tool that takes one. If most of your messages are slot questions, tell us your calendar count and we start from it.
