- Is an electronic signature legal in the UAE?
- Yes, for most private documents. Federal Decree-Law 46 of 2021 lets you use any form of electronic signature unless another law says otherwise. Some documents still have their own route: Ejari registration, MOHRE contracts, property transfers at DLD, and anything a notary or court must see. The table above lists them.
- Is it binding in Saudi Arabia? Does it use Nafath?
- Partly. Saudi law gives full weight to signatures backed by a certificate from a licensed provider, usually with Nafath. Mindcat Sign does not issue those certificates or use Nafath. Use it for offer letters, internal approvals and acknowledgements, and use a licensed provider such as emdha or Signit for contracts that need that weight.
- Will Ejari accept a lease signed this way?
- It depends on DLD, not on us. Registration happens on Dubai REST or at a trustee centre, and DLD decides what it accepts. What you bring is one signed PDF with every party’s signature and its audit log.
- Can we sign the MOHRE or Qiwa contract with it?
- No. The MOHRE offer and contract and the Qiwa contract are signed inside those systems. Use Mindcat Sign for your own offer letter before them, and for NDAs, policies and handover forms after.
- What is the difference between an electronic and a digital signature?
- An electronic signature is any sign of agreement on a document, such as a drawn signature with an audit log. A digital signature uses a certificate. Every file Mindcat Sign completes carries a certificate that shows whether it was changed later; by default that certificate is ours, and you can add your own company certificate during setup. It is not a per-signer certificate from a licensed provider.
- Does the signer need an app, an account or UAE PASS?
- No. Signers open a link on any phone or computer and sign. They don’t need to install anything or create an account.
- Is the signing page in Arabic?
- Yes. It switches to Arabic, right to left, when the signer’s phone or browser is set to Arabic. The screens your own team uses are in English today; we add Arabic during setup.
- Where are the documents stored?
- In the UAE on shared servers. On your own servers, in the UAE or in Jeddah or Riyadh, whichever you choose. In your own cloud, wherever your account is. Backups stay in the same country. Only the Mindcat engineers who run your copy can reach its servers, for updates and support; in your own cloud, your IT team decides who has access.
- Does it send reminders?
- No, not automatically. The documents list shows who hasn’t signed, and you can resend or copy the link in two clicks. Automatic reminders need a paid upstream licence, which we can quote at cost.
- Can my clients see our logo?
- Not today. Emails go out under your company name, and the signing page carries the Mindcat Sign mark. Your own logo on the signing page needs a paid upstream licence, which we can quote at cost.
- What counts as a sender?
- Anyone in your team who sends at least one document for signing in a month. People who only sign, and admins who only look, are free.
- Is there a DocuSign alternative with data in the UAE?
- This is one. Mindcat Sign stores your documents in the UAE, or in Saudi Arabia on your own copy, and we set it up with your templates. The compare table above shows the prices side by side.
- What is it built on?
- Mindcat Sign is built on DocuSeal, licensed under AGPL-3.0, and any changes we make to it will be released under the same licence. The signing page keeps a small “Powered by DocuSeal” line because the licence asks for it. What you pay us for is the hosting in the region, the setup, your templates and running it.
