If you cannot say today what asset software would cost your company, or who holds which laptop, this is for you. This is not for you if nobody will own the register once the laptop has been handed over: no price fixes that.
What does the price count?
Open three price pages and you will find three different units. ManageEngine's page says "You pay for the number of IT assets you manage". EZOfficeInventory's plans are "based on 500 items". AssetTiger says "Pay for assets, not seats". We price differently: Mindcat Assets counts people holding kit.
Picture the day it matters: a leaver messages on WhatsApp, "I'll drop the laptop on Thursday." Someone has to write that down against a name, a serial and a date, and the software bill is the smaller half of that job. Still, the number is what your finance lead asked for, so start there.
The unit decides how the bill grows. Hire ten people and a per-person price moves. Buy monitors, docks, SIMs and licence seats for the same ten people and a per-asset price moves, while a per-person price does not. The total on day one hides this, so price the unit that will grow in your company.

What do 50, 250 and 1,000 people pay?
On the Mindcat Assets page, you pay per person holding kit, per month. The first 100 people cost AED 5 each, people 101 to 300 cost AED 3, 301 to 1,000 cost AED 2, and above 1,000 AED 1. Each price applies only to the people inside its band. The AED and SAR figures are the same number. The shared plan has a minimum of AED 600 a month, which covers up to 133 people, so one login does not buy a seat at the per-person rate.
For 250 people, the first year is AED 6,900 setup plus 12 x AED 950, which is AED 18,300 before VAT. Tagging and counting on site is quoted on top.
A person holding kit is anyone with at least one laptop, phone, tool or licence seat checked out to them that month. If only 120 of your 250 staff hold kit, the sum is 100 x 5 + 20 x 3 = AED 560, so the AED 600 minimum applies.
The 250-person row is on our page. The 50 and 1,000 rows are arithmetic on the same price list. Prices exclude 5 percent UAE VAT and 15 percent Saudi VAT. Assets, licences and locations are unlimited, and IT, HR and finance logins are free.
When does a per-asset price pass a per-person price?
Take ManageEngine AssetExplorer Cloud, which lists a monthly price per band of IT assets: USD 115 for 250, USD 225 for 500, USD 360 for 1,000, USD 580 for 2,000 and USD 865 for 3,000. Our prices at the peg of 3.6725 are USD 163.38 for 50 people, USD 258.68 for 250 and USD 680.74 for 1,000.
For a 250-person company, the line that matters is this: ManageEngine's monthly price stays below ours while you manage 500 IT assets or fewer, and passes it by 1,000. Line up all three sizes. For 50 people, ManageEngine's monthly price passes ours between 250 and 500 assets. For 250 people, between 500 and 1,000 assets. For 1,000 people, between 2,000 and 3,000. The yearly list moves each crossing a little, not the order.
That is the receipt for our rule: price the thing that grows with you. At 1,000 people the crossing sits at two to three assets each. Past it, a bill that counts people stays flat while a bill that counts assets keeps climbing.

Where is a per-asset tool the better buy?
Often. On 21 October 2026, AssetTiger lists USD 20 a month for 500 assets, USD 40 for 2,500 and USD 75 for 10,000, with unlimited users. EZOfficeInventory's Advanced plan lists USD 117.11 a month for 500 items. Both are below our price at every size above. A company that sets up its own tool, reads English screens and has no rule about where records sit should look at them first.
Our page says the same: the cheapest tools cost less than we do. Ask each vendor three things. Where do the records sit? Who imports your current spreadsheet? How does a leaver's list reach HR on the day they leave? None of the three price pages states a data location or lists a setup service.
What does the setup add?
Setup is the line the price pages leave out. On Mindcat Assets, the quick start is a fixed AED 2,500 for the shared plan up to 100 people: your own copy hosted in the UAE or Saudi Arabia, your register imported from our template, our asset tag format, a handover note in Arabic and English that people sign on the phone, and recorded training.
From 101 people, or on your own servers, we set it up with you after one call with your IT lead. Managed setup is AED 6,900 for 101 to 300 people and AED 12,900 for 301 to 1,000. Tagging and counting on site is quoted separately, and labels and printers are yours to buy. Extra work is AED 900 an hour.
Know what you do not get. Mindcat Assets does not scan your network for unknown devices and does not wipe a phone when someone leaves. That stays with your MDM. Microsoft sign-in and device sync from Intune, Jamf or Google Workspace are set up during setup, not on day one. The Arabic screens are partly translated.

How do we decide which price unit fits you?
Our method is called Signed-for custody. We count the people who hold kit, the assets you track today, the offices and where your records have to sit. Then we say which unit is cheaper for you, and we say so when it is a per-asset tool.
- 01Count it yourself this week: how many people hold at least one item, and how many items does each hold? A few items each, and a per-asset tool can cost less than ours.
- 02Do your records have to sit in the UAE or Saudi Arabia, and does someone need Arabic screens and a signed handover? If yes, we price the shared plan or your own servers.
- 03Who imports your sheet and signs off the first count? We do it in setup, or we tell you to buy a cheaper tool.
When a company already has an IT service desk, the leaver ticket can start from the same record: see Mindcat Desk for that side. For plant, planned maintenance and building systems, the product is Maintain. This post covers who holds laptops, phones and tools.
Tell us how many people hold company laptops, phones or tools and where you track them today. We reply with the setup plan and the monthly price per person, in AED or SAR. If a cheaper tool fits, tell us anyway and we will say so.
