If your drivers come back with coupon books and cash envelopes and the 10 pm count is short, this is for you. The choice between paper and an app comes down to two numbers you already have. This is not for you if you run one van with regular customers. Keep the coupon book and count it every night.
What does a coupon book cost a water distributor?
Two things leak, and both are in your own words. The first is the balance. Wally, a company that sells coupon books as Apple and Google Wallet passes, puts the argument this way on its blog (7 October 2026): "The customer is sure they had nine coupons left; your records, if there are records, say five." Someone absorbs the difference, and the goodwill goes with it.
The second is the cash. A driver who collects money and a ledger that nobody matches is an old problem. In a case reported by Khaleej Times (7 July 2024), a general trading company's delivery driver, who also collected payments, kept AED 114,966 over more than two years. It came out only when a replacement driver found that client payments did not match the books. The company in that case did not sell water, but the pattern is yours: money collected at the door and recorded somewhere else.
A third leak is in plain sight at the gate: the empty bottle. One UAE brand, Alrawdah Springs, states a refundable deposit of AED 17 for every bottle that does not come back (its product page, read 27 October 2026). A bottle that stays at a villa is cash you have already spent.

How do you decide: book or app?
Count first. This is our rule of thumb, not a study.
- 01Count last month's coupon disputes: every time a customer and your record disagreed on a balance.
- 02Count the nights the cash was short: every evening a driver's envelope did not match his day's jobs.
- 03If either number is two or more in a week, the route needs a record for every stop. If both are rarer than that, keep the book and the nightly count.
The test is blunt on purpose. A book works while one person can hold the whole route in his head. It stops working when a dispute takes a phone call to settle, or when the evening count and the morning loads no longer agree.

What should a record per stop hold?
Five things, entered at the gate and not at night.
- The bottles delivered.
- The empties collected.
- Cash taken, or the coupons used, with the balance left.
- Proof the delivery happened: a photo, a signature or a code.
- The driver's name, so each envelope has one owner.

Skip the empties line and the record fits a courier. Keep it and the record fits a water route. That one line decides which tool you can use.
Where does a dispatch board fit, and where not?
At
What it does not have today is a ledger of empties and refundable deposits for each customer. If your biggest loss is bottles that never return, buy a tool built for that first. Irsaal is one: its page says it opened to UAE suppliers in October 2026 and keeps a live bottle balance for each customer, with the deposit held against the bottles, coupons recorded as money paid in advance, and a rider app that works offline. It also says plainly that the office screen is in English only, the rider app is in English or Urdu, and support runs from Pakistan. Read its page for yourself and use the trial.
If your problem is only the paper coupon, a wallet pass like Wally's is the smaller step. If you are also choosing between a tracker and a board, our earlier post shows how to tell which loss you have. If you are thinking of hiring riders, see when your own riders beat a courier.
Customers who message you on WhatsApp at 11 pm are a separate job. Orders in chat go to a shared inbox, which is Mindcat Inbox. Dispatch is the board.
What does it cost for eight drivers?
Our page lists AED or SAR 119 per driver a month for the first 10 drivers on the shared plan, which we host in the UAE, with a minimum of 3 drivers, so AED 357 a month. Eight drivers come to 8 x 119 = AED 952 a month. Ten drivers are AED 1,190. There are no per-order fees.
Setup is a one-time AED or SAR 7,500 for up to 10 drivers, and it is done with us. There is no self-serve start: every plan begins with a written plan. WhatsApp and SMS messages, Google Maps and payment gateway fees are billed at cost, outside the driver price. Prices exclude 5 percent UAE VAT and 15 percent Saudi VAT.
A notebook costs less. That is why the test comes first.
What happens in the first morning?
We spend one morning with you and your dispatcher. We map how orders, bottles, coupons and cash move today, in Arabic or English. After that you get a written plan, the go-live date and the monthly price. We call it WhatsApp to dispatch board. If your count says keep the book, we will tell you so. If it says two or more a week, tell us your driver count and we reply with the plan and the price.
