A marketing manager and a developer in a Dubai office go through a printed list of name ideas next to a tower model.

Vercel · Tools

Your domain sits on an account someone left with years ago.

The renewal email goes to a former agency, or to a card that expired. Vercel Domains sells names at the registry’s wholesale price, on the same account as the site, with DNS set in one place. It does not register .ae or .in. Those stay with a UAE or Indian registrar, and we point their DNS at the same site.

The problem

Where domains go wrong today.

What Domains is

Domains, in plain words.

Facts from Vercel’s own pages, checked on 16 October 2026. The sources are at the end of this page.

Price
Vercel sells at the wholesale price each registry sets, for registration, renewal and transfer. The price it pays is the price you pay.
Example, as of 16 October 2026
.com was $11.25 a year to register and to renew. Some endings use other terms: the .ai quote was for two years.
Search without signing up
Search and pricing need no Vercel account. Buying and managing a domain needs one.
Privacy
WHOIS privacy is included for many endings but not all. Vercel lists .am, .asia and .au among those without it.
Not available
.ae and .in are not on Vercel’s list of endings it can register. You can still use a domain registered elsewhere.
Pointing it
Add the domain to a project and set the DNS values the Domains settings show. Sites on Vercel are served from an anycast network.

How it works

From a name idea to a live domain you own.

Five steps for a name Vercel can register. For .ae or .in, steps one to three happen at a local registrar, and step four is the same.

Five steps: search names with no login, see the wholesale price, buy on the company account, point it at the project, renew.

The same steps are written out below.

Step by step

What happens at each step.

  1. Search

    Search names, no account needed

Up to 200 names in one search through Vercel’s public API or CLI.

  2. Price

    See the real price

The registry’s wholesale price for that ending and term, before anyone pays.

  3. Buy

Buy it on the company’s team

Signed in to a Vercel team your company owns, never a person’s account.

  4. Point

    Point it at the project

Add it to the project and set the DNS values shown. A .ae or .in at a local registrar points here the same way.

  5. Renew

Renew or transfer in the same place

Renewals and transfers run through the same registrar, with the reminder going to a shared inbox.

How it fits together

Where your domains live and where they point.

Endings Vercel can register, such as .com, .ai and .co, live on your Vercel team. .ae and .in stay at a UAE or Indian registrar. All of them point at one site on Vercel, whose forms send leads to Salesforce.

Customers type your name; .com sits on Vercel Domains and .ae or .in at a local registrar; both point at your site and Salesforce.

Use cases · worked examples

One worked example in each industry.

How Domains fits into the work of the industries we serve, one step at a time.

  1. Project names are searched and priced, bought on the brokerage account, the .ae stays local, and both point at the launch page.

Example 1 · Real estate, Dubai · Infographic

Marketing manager at a Dubai off-plan brokerage

Today: Every new project needs its own domain before the ads go out. The last one was bought by our old agency and we never got it back.

After: The project .com is bought on the brokerage’s own Vercel team. The brokerage’s .ae stays at its UAE registrar, with a DNS record pointing a project address at the same launch page.

    Worked example, step by step

    1. 10:00Marketing manager. Needs a .com for a new off-plan project before the ads launch on Thursday.
    2. 10:05Developer. Searches twenty name ideas through Vercel’s public search. No sign-in needed.
    3. 10:20Marketing manager. Picks one. The developer buys it on the brokerage’s own Vercel team.
    4. 10:40Developer. Adds the domain to the launch page project and sets the DNS values.
    5. 11:00Developer. At the UAE registrar, adds a record so the project address on the brokerage’s .ae opens the same page.
    6. 11:30Sales head. Sends a test enquiry from the live page and sees it in Salesforce.

The brokerage owns both addresses, and the next agency cannot leave with them.

  2. A .in moves to a company account, a .com is bought at wholesale price, both point at one store, renewals go to a shared inbox.

Example 2 · Online retail, Kochi · Infographic

Founder of a Kochi spice and tea store selling across India and to the Gulf

Today: Our .in is on a reseller account a past developer opened. We want a .com for Gulf buyers, and I do not want two separate websites.

After: The .in moves to an account the company owns at an Indian registrar. The .com is bought on Vercel at the registry price. Both point at one store.

    Worked example, step by step

    1. Week 1Mindcat. Finds who holds the .in and moves it to an account the company owns at an Indian registrar.
    2. Week 1Developer. Buys the .com on the company’s Vercel team and checks whether privacy is included for that ending.
    3. Week 1Developer. Points the .in at the store project from the Indian registrar’s DNS settings.
    4. Week 2Founder. Chooses the .com as the main address for Gulf ads; the .in serves Indian buyers.
    5. Week 2Mindcat. Sets renewal mail for both to a shared company inbox.

Renewal mail reaches the company, and both addresses open the same store.

    Retail and e-commerce
  3. Client domains are listed, moved to client-owned accounts, pointed at their sites, with renewal tasks in Salesforce.

Example 3 · Marketing agency, Austin · Infographic

Operations lead at an Austin marketing agency

Today: We look after client domains across three registrars and two personal cards. Last spring a client’s site went down over a missed renewal.

After: Each domain is listed by client in Salesforce with its expiry. Endings Vercel supports move to the client’s own team. Each gets a renewal task weeks ahead.

    Worked example, step by step

    1. MonOperations lead. Exports the domain lists from all three registrars.
    2. TueMindcat. Records each domain, its client and its expiry date in Salesforce.
    3. WedDeveloper. Transfers supported endings to each client’s own Vercel team, checking the transfer price first.
    4. ThuDeveloper. Points each domain at its client’s project and checks it loads.
    5. OngoingSalesforce. Creates a renewal task for the account manager 60 days before each expiry.

Each renewal is seen weeks before it is due, and each client owns its own name.

Is it for you

When Domains fits, and when it doesn’t.

Good fit

Not for you yet

Your site runs on Vercel, or will
You need to register .ae or .in: use a local registrar
You want .com, .ai, .co or another supported ending
Your email and site run on a host you are keeping
Nobody is sure who holds the domain today
You need WHOIS privacy on an ending that lacks it
You want renewals at the registry price
Your registrar contract has not ended

What Mindcat does

We build it, then we run it.

The assessment is free: a short read of the org and a written note. If you go ahead, the first build week is a fixed AED/SAR 14,900 (about USD 4,050), credited in full when you sign the build within 60 days. After go-live, we keep it patched, watched and changing every month.

FAQ

What teams ask about Domains.

Can we register a .ae or .in on Vercel?
No. Neither is on Vercel’s list of endings it can register as of 16 October 2026. Keep those at a UAE or Indian registrar, in your company’s name, and point their DNS at your site on Vercel.
What does a .com cost?
As of 16 October 2026, Vercel quoted $11.25 to register a .com for a year and the same to renew. Registry prices change, and some endings are sold in two-year terms, so we check the live price before buying.
Is WHOIS privacy included?
For many endings, yes. For some, such as .am, .asia and .au, Vercel lists it as not included. We check the ending before you choose it.
Will moving the domain break our email?
It should not, if the mail records move with it. We copy every mail record first and check mail still arrives before we change anything else.
Do we need a Vercel account to search?
No. Search and pricing are public. You sign in only to buy and manage.
