Faisal Al-S.

I help Saudi family businesses hand over from the founder to the next generation, with clear roles, a family charter and a board that meets.

About Faisal

The founder built it in one lifetime. The handover needs a plan.

In most family businesses I meet, everyone agrees the next generation will take over. Nobody has agreed who decides what, who sits on the board, or what happens when two brothers want the same role. Those questions wait until they cannot wait.

I spent fifteen years in management consulting in Riyadh and Jeddah before I began working only with families. Now I sit with the founder first, then with the family, and we put the answers in writing while everyone is still at the same table.

How I work with families

Three pieces of work. Most families start with the first.

  1. 01

    Succession plan

A written plan for who takes which role, and when.

Private conversations with the founder and each family member, then one plan everyone has read before it is signed.

  2. 02

    Family charter

The rules the family agrees on before they are needed.

Who can work in the business, how shares pass on, how disagreements are settled. Written in Arabic and English.

  3. 03

    A working board

A board that meets on a calendar and keeps minutes.

We choose the members, bring in independent seats where they help, and I sit in for the first year of meetings.

Inside the work

Long evenings, careful listening and plain paper.

What happens next

From one email to a first meeting with the founder.

  1. 1

    Write to me

A few lines on the business and the family. I reply within two working days.

  2. 2

    A private call

Forty minutes, in confidence, with whoever wrote to me.

  3. 3

    Meeting the founder

I visit the founder in person and we agree where to begin.

Questions families ask

Does the founder need to agree before we start?

Yes. I always meet the founder first. Without his or her agreement, a plan does not last.

Is everything kept confidential?

Every conversation stays private. We sign a confidentiality letter before the first meeting.

Do you work outside Riyadh?

Yes. I work with families across Saudi Arabia and the Gulf, and travel for the family meetings.

Is your family ready to talk about the handover?

Send me a short email. Every message is read by me and kept private.
